Extreme Hitchhiking

I love this so much, it was just too amazing not to take the risk of doing photography whilst driving. It is a testament to the huge benefits of owning a keyring camera or a mobile phone with a camera built in.

This guy just casually hopped onto the back of a BT van and travelled about two miles. He was clealry a pro at extreme hitchhiking because he knew these particular vans had two grab handles and a footplate to stand on. In the end the van stopped at some traffic lights and he jumped off.

So saving money on transport costs and enjoying a chauffer driven ride couldn't be simpler.

Disneyland's Snow White's Scary Adventure Attraction

Many children love this simple yet fun ride. Snow Whites Scary Adventure can be scary for some children, which is why Disney decided to add the Scary Adventure to the name of the ride. In addition to the name change that many overlook they added a small dungeon like scene in the queue and children who are intimidated by this small scene will likely be scared of the ride itself. If your children are scared by skeletons, the dark, or might be scarred of witched popping out at them unexpectedly you should avoid this ride otherwise fill free to take them on it.

One nice thing about Snow White is that the lines are never to big. The other side of Fantasyland has the more popular rides with longer lines such as Mr. Toad and Peter Pan. The side with Snow White has the smallest lines with Snow White and the even shorter line for Pinocchio. Snow White was one of the original rides to open when Disneyland first opened. Snow White has had some changes thought the years though and is not the same as the original ride.

Some fun things to note are before you enter the building if you look up at the window every half a minute or so the wicked queen will open the shutters and peer out below. Also right before entering there is a bronze apple if you touch there will be a crash of lighting if children are scared of that then they will likely be scared of the ride.

The ride starts out in the seven dwarfs house with singing dwarves then goes into the dwarves mine. Then we go into the queen's castle and see her transform into the witch, which may scare some kids. There we go to a dungeon and see the witch prepare a poison apple. From the castle we go into the forest that may be scary for some children. The dwarves chase the with and she crashes to her doom.

This ride is a great gauge of how your kids will fare on scarier rides if they cant handle Snow White they wont like any of them though be ok with Snow White does not guarantee they will not be afraid on scarier rides.

Universals Men in Black Ride

The MIB ride at Universals Orlando Florida is an out of this world attraction. It is a ride you can go on again and again and always see something new. Each ride will be slightly different and you will see new things you missed before each time you ride.

What makes this ride so special is that it is not just a ride you sit and watch the experience unfold before you instead it immerses you into the experience. You participate in the ride itself and help to determine the outcome of the ride.

The ride starts with you boarding a MIB car that has laser guns for you to use on a training mission. As you start out at MIB headquarters you shoot some targets and score some points but then you hear news that an alien invasion is coming and they need as many people as they can get which includes new recruits like you. So off you are sent into the big city but this is no practice round this is the real thing.

You have to shoot the aliens in the eyes to score points. As you progress though the city you find the neighboring vehicle has an alien in it and you need to shoot the other teams car. If you hit the top target over the car it will give you points and send the other team spinning out of control momentarily. This spin out allows you to get a few more points and to be ready to shoot them again. If you are good at spinning them you can make it difficult for them to score.

When you near the end of the ride you will see a giant alien and be told to push the red button in front of you the first person to push it will get tons of points the button alone can get you more points then the rest of the car combined (if your car is bad). For your team to beat the other car it is important one team member gets that button.

The ending differs based on how your overall team score was. You will see how you did compared to the other team and then getting an ending based on your overall score with higher scores getting better endings.

At the end you can purchase a photo with your teams score. If you have a bad score and want a photo just go on it again and get a better score now that you know where the points are at.

A Trip to Seoulland: The Most Un-magical Place on Earth

The first thing you will notice when you come to Seoulland is when you enter the park in “World Plaza” you will see a large geodesic sphere and a bunch of countries represented it's just a little ok a lot like Disney's Epcot. The other lands will also sound very familiar as well. Adventure Land is not only named the same as a land at the Disney parks but it also another obvious Disney knock off, it's an American west frontier village to roughly translate the Korean description offered by the park.

The next land is of all places Fantasy Land. Entering Fantasy Land the entrance looks a lot like It's a Small World. The next lands is surprise, surprise Tomorrow Land, I wonder where they got that name from? These are not the only lands one more exists the last land is the most original of all the lands its Samchulli Land, what that means I don't really know it probably translates into Frontier Land, Main Street, or Toontown.

The top ride at Seoulland is Sky-X. You have probably seen this kind of ride at other theme parks. Sky-X is not free it cost to use its one of those rides that pull you up in a harness and then swings you in the air.

Tomorrow Land has Shot X Drop that is a ride like many other parks as well. You sit down and then are launched up fast. It is not the tallest or fastest of rides the height is 52 meters but how tall that is in feet or stories I don't really know.

The Black Hole 2000 is by far the best ride at the park even though officially the park ranks it as their third best park. It is an amazing roller coaster. It is a good roller coaster not the best but this coaster can stand up against any that the U.S. has. The only fault it has is it is small but it is a very fun coaster.

There are a few rides that they have that are common like a Viking ship, a tumbler ride, and a spinning ride called the World Cup that was introduced during the 2002 World Cup.

The final ride that should be mentioned is the haunted house. If you love old dark rides you will love the haunted house. The haunted house is the most old school gimmicky lame ride but if you are like me and love the old classic dark rides that are sadly mostly gone or totally updated so they no longer look like they used to. It is a ride that has charm. If you heard of the guy who built a dark ride in his garage well that looked like a better more advanced ride then Seoulland version but that is part of why it is so much fun.

You go into a cave which is about the high point of the ride as it does give good staging and is kind of impressive its just not some building but a cave oh, ah (no I am serious I am not mocking its cave). The only bad thing about the cave is it probably shouldn't be called a haunted house if it's a haunted cave. As I understand things the ride features legendary ghost from Koreas history but not being Korean they are lost on me.

The park is not a great park by American standards; a typical county fair has the same rides or even better ones often. The only two rides that are worth going for are the haunted house and the roller coaster.

Though it was fun if you have lots of time like more then a weekend in Seoul then this is worthwhile park to see it is certainly one of the best theme parks in the country which isn't much of an accomplishment but since you can do most things you want in Seoul you should have some time to see frivolous places like Seoulland.

Holiday World

Holiday World, formerly known as Santa Clause Land, is located in Santa Claus, Indiana. Holiday World is known for their large and fast wooden roller coasters, their free soft drinks and sunscreen, and their Splashin' Safari water park. Costing only $39.95 per adult for both Holiday World and Splashin' Safari, no wonder the park is said to be "Number one for family fun." Once you pay admittance, you can ride all rides in both parks as many times as you want for no extra charge. You can get tickets at discount prices by buying more than fifteen or more tickets at a time, purchasing two consecutive day tickets, visiting the park after 3:00 P.M., bringing in an empty Pepsi can, or by buying season tickets. The parking, inner tubes, shows, sunscreen, and soft drinks are always free.

There are always different shows and performances that you can see. There are various singing and dancing groups. The diving show is always a crowd pleaser. You can hear a story being told by Santa Clause himself. The music shows vary from country, to gospel, to oldies, and even karaoke. You are sure to be entertained and have a few laughs no matter what show you decide to see.

Their wooden roller coasters consist of the Raven, the Legend, and the Voyage. The Voyage roller coaster has been voted number one wooden roller coaster in the planet. It's maximum speed is 67.4 miles per hour. The Raven is the first wooden roller coaster that was built at Holiday World. It was first introduced to the world in 1995, and has been loved by thrill seekers ever since. The Raven was named the number one wooden roller coaster on the planet from the year 2000 through 2003 and has remained a Top 10 coaster ever since. It is okay to scream, but be warned, there are hidden cameras that will take your picture and everyone can see after the ride is over!

Splashin' Safari is definitely the best water park that I have ever been to. There are many different water slides to go down. There are two large wave pools. You can be lazy and float around in an inner tube in the lazy river. You can race your friends by going down the Jungle Racer and seeing your times on a large screen. You will be able to slide, splash, laugh, climb, and "monkey around" in the new Kima Bay water fun park. The Monsoon Lagoon is similar. The Bahari is a larger wave pool with less intense waves than the original wave pool. The Zinga is a large slide where up to four people can ride in the same tube. You are in an enclosed slide, until you are slung into the large funnel. It is so much fun! The Zoombabwe, Watubee, the Bamboo Chute, and the Amazoom are other fun water slides. With the Otorongo, you have your choice of slides: the Oto, the Ron, or the Go.

The Raging Rapids and the Frightful Falls are two rides that will get you wet and cool you off outside of the Splashin' Safari. The Rapids will seat your eigtht and will take you around a little town that is full of suprises! The Frightful Falls is a log ride that goes up high, and drops you fast. Be sure to smile; your picture is taken in the middle of the fall. You will definitely get wet in both of these rides.

The Liberty Launch is like the reverse of other theme park's Hellevator. In the launch, hydrolics launch you up high into the sky. Paul Revere's Midnight Ride looks like a large spider or octopus. Your cart will spin in circles as you go around, up, and down. The Scarecrow Scrambler is a similar ride, but it does not go up and down. You can bump into someone you know, in the Rough Riders bumper cars, that is! There are also bumper boats. There are many different rides for the little ones to enjoy as well.

Be sure to visit one of the many gift shops. Hungry? You have many options of food, from Mexican, to pizza, to burgers, to chicken strips, dippin dots, funnel cakes, ice cream cones, and just about everything else you could crave.

Thrills, chills, sun, and fun: that is what you can expect by going to Holiday World. There is fun for the entire family, no matter what age or interests. There are shows, roller coasters, trains, the Holidog, rides, water, and yesSanta himself. The only thing missing is you! There are lifeguards and slide attendants on duty at all time for your safety. All of this fun, for one low price. What is better than that?! So what are you waiting for? Come on down to Santa Claus, Indiana and visit Holiday World and Splashin' Safari.

21 Tips on Surviving an FX Taxi Ride in the Philippines

Taking the so-called FX taxi ride in the Philippines is akin to playing in “Deal or No Deal” or any game of chance.

For those who haven't been to the Philippines for a long time or at all, FXs are public utility vehicles, usually Toyota Tamaraw FX models -- hence the name - that are used to transport people just like taxi. The only difference from a real taxi is that an FX can take as much as 10 passengers at the same time. The FX cab follows a defined route, and the driver simply drops off his passengers wherever they want along that route.

Now, in taking an FX ride, you better think like you're playing a game where the goal is to reach your place of destination still in one piece.

If you don't know how to play the game, you could lose big time.

So here are some tips on how the human species could survive not global warming but FX riding in the Philippines.

Before leaving the house on your way to office, do the most important thing of all - pray. Use positive words when praying. For instance, don't say, “God, please don't let me get run over by a truck.” Chances are, that negative idea could seep into your consciousness and make you prone to accident. So pray instead, “God, let me get a ride fast, let my travel be smooth and safe, let me reach my office on time. This I pray to help brighten up my day to enable me to work in the most productive manner possible for the good of all.” Don't miss “for the good of all” since if you skip that, you'll sound selfish, and good fortune may not be kind on selfish people.

If you're riding in an FX terminal, that's better since you'll have more time to check the exterior and the interior of the vehicle before boarding. If you're hailing a passing FX cab, get a quick look on the exterior of the vehicle. Is it a dirty ancient sardine can crawling on wheels? Better skip that one. If it's old, there's greater chance that its aircon is actually a hot air blower and that it would develop engine trouble along the way.

If you're not in too much of a hurry, make a quick scan of the passengers already inside the cab. If a person resembling Jaba the Hutt is seated in the front seat, don't go there. If another obese person is plonked in the middle seats, don't squeeze yourself in there, too. But if there's a chubby at the back, that's ok since the back seats of an FX taxi have more butt room although very less leg room.

If you're the chubby one and your butt actually occupies a space good for two normal-sized people, have the decency to pay for two seats so that the four-seater middle seats will have only three occupants. But if your budget is limited, okay, pay for one seat but don't complain if you get squeezed by the other passengers.

Trust your instincts. If you see suspicious looking passengers inside, don't risk it. Get out and take another FX cab. Although some criminals these days look suave, even charming, still there are tell-tale signs of people who are up to no good: Shabby people who look like Neanderthals or baboons with long unkempt hair; people with sharp, scary eyes; people who exude an air of all-around badness. It's difficult to describe them actually, but when in their presence you could feel that sense of foreboding.

If you're really in a hurry and you're left with no choice but to become part of the FX “sardines,” don't be too shy with your seatmates. Gently nudge your seatmate to give even an extra millimeter of room for your butt. Or better yet request him or her to move just a wee bit further. Never shove your hips on your seatmate too forcefully or aggressively, or he or she might just poke you in the eye.

Recline your back on the seat's backrest for comfort, even if your shoulders or upper arm touch those of your seatmates. Don't tilt your body vertically just to avoid touching your seatmates' shoulders or arms. This tenses your back muscles, making the ride uncomfortable for you and you may later develop unnecessary back pain or cramps.

If you're seated in front, prefer the window seat rather than the one near the driver. If you're forced to sit near the driver, as much as possible put some distance - which is easier said than done, I know - since chances are the driver's knuckles would brush on your thigh when he shifts the gear stick.

If you're seated at the rear of the cab, prefer the seat nearer the aircon vent since you could adjust the aircon grille to your preference. But don't be too selfish and do adjust the grille so that your seatmate could have some cool air, too. The seats nearer the aircon vent could also have more leg room if you position your body at a 45-degree angle from your seat so that your knees touch the back of the middle seats' backrest.

Also, check from what side of the FX cab the sun is shining. If it's on the left, prefer the right seats and vice versa. Being scorched by sunlight on a sardine-like vehicle could be like frying yourself in your own lard.Notice the sign on the rear window of an FX taxi in Manila. The driver must be in real hurry to earn money. With "Jesus on board" who could try to delay him and his passengers?

Try to stretch your legs or move your feet even a bit, especially if you're at the rear seats. This will help you avoid cramps.

To get rid of boredom during the ride, this is the best time to listen to your I-Pod, but not if the FX stereo is blaring loud music. Even if you ram the I-Pod earpiece into your eardrum, you'd still hear the noise from the loud FX stereo - mixed noise that's a sure recipe for headache.

If you don't have an I-Pod, or an MP3 player, or a cell phone with radio, well, you can just hum a tune - in your head only, not aloud for Pedro's sake!

If you're through with humming a tune in your head, try to use the empty travel time productively. Plan your day, your activities, the details of your work mentally. Try to think of how best to improve your relationships with your friends, your officemates, your family members. Think of how best to manage your finances, your business. Think of how best to spread happiness and prosperity in your own circle (In my case, I thought about the ideas for this article on a one-hour FX ride from Lawton to Las Pinas just last night).

There will always be passengers who have boundless capacities to irritate their seatmates. These are the loudmouths who talk on their cell phones as if nobody is around them to hear their silly stories, petty quarrels and corny jokes. Then there are the saliva sprayers who talk nonstop to their companions seated beside them. The best way to avoid being victimized by noise polluters inside an FX taxi is to simply blank your mind - again easier said than done but worth trying nevertheless. There is an apt word for this in the Harry Potter lexicon: Occlumency - the art of closing your mind to all thoughts.

What about passengers who stink to high heavens? Before taking an FX taxi ride, be prepared: Put a dab of cologne or perfume in your handkerchief and put the latter in your nose as soon as the stink hits you. No, wearing a gas mask would be too obvious.

For safety, lock the door of the cab as it starts moving. When the passenger seated near the dog alights from the cab, occupy his seat and lock the door anew to prevent intruders from barging into the cab.

Try to bring exact fare money or at least smaller denomination bills so that it would be easier for the driver to give you your change. Handing the driver a 1,000-peso bill a second before barking “Para!” could merit you a well-deserved tongue lashing from the driver.

Don't put all your money in your wallet. If you have a bag, put some money there. This way, in case you - God forbid - get robbed of your wallet, you'll still have enough money to at least get you to your destination.

Don't flaunt your expensive cell phone either inside or outside the cab. They are the most tempting targets for snatchers and their ilk. Put your phone in silent mode, and don't answer even if it rings or vibrates while you're still inside the vehicle. This is not just for the sake of security but for decency as well.

If you have to send a text message, keep it short so as not to disturb other passengers with the light coming from your phone's screen. Also, avoid peeping into the cell phones of other passengers when they write text messages. That's considered an invasion of privacy which could land you in trouble. How would you like it if other people get to read your secret messages?

For sure, there are other ways to make an FX ride as comfortable and as safe as possible despite the many hassles involved. Whatever they are, there's one basic guideline for all FX riders: Keep cool.

Hold On To Your Seat: Exploring the World's Wildest Rides!

For those of you looking for thrill and excitement, here is a list of some of the best rides in the world. Make sure not to eat too much before you take a ride on one of these crazy amusement park rides, or you might just lose it on one of those wicked freefaaaallllls.

Best Steel Roller Coaster: Millennium Force

Cedar Point Sandusky, Ohio

This coaster has an 80-foot drop at an 80-degree angle, almost straight down! The “train” moves mostly without motors because of the great amount of change from potential energy to kinetic energy. The highest point on the ride is about 310 feet high: the same height as 763 soda cans stacked on top of one another.

The Best Ride in the Dark: The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man

Islands of adventure Orlando, Florida

The indoor ride used 3-D glasses and special effects to put you in the middle of New York City. When Spider-Man jumps at you he's not really there, he's just an image that forms an illusion in your brain. To make all the images of the ride, they use 25 film projectors and 13 screens.

The boulder dash is the only wooden roller coaster built entirely on the side of a mountain. So instead of climbing up the mountain, you can just ride up your way. At the beginning of the ride a chain pulls the coaster up the hill and when it begins to descend, gravity sends the coaster the rest of the way-no motors needed. This ride features almost a mile of track.

Best Water Park Ride: Master Blaster

Unlike most water rides the Master Blaster takes you uphill and downhill. At the bottom of each drop there is a gust of water shooting out to push you forward. The reason why it has enough force to bring you up is because; water comes from a large tube to a small tube, thus creating high-pressure water blast. The ride is made out of 25,869 nuts, bolts, and washers, wow.

A Pleasant and Enjoyable Cable Car Ride

It is an exciting and enjoyable experience anyone can have with a ride in a cable car. In Switzerland, a home of the cable car, the cable car is used to ferry tourists up the slope of a mountain, to a fast-food outlet from where one can have a bird's eye view of the surrounding country. In winter, one can view skiers glide down the snow-covered slope on skis from the top of a ski run.

In Singapore, the cable car is used to commute one from the summit of Faber Mount on the Singapore Island to a low hill on Sentosa, a famous resort island just off the southern part of Singapore.

The cable car resembles a carriage which hangs from a strong steel cable suspended in the air. It moves along the cable with other cars on pullers turned by electronic motors. Each cable car is painted with eye-catching color and can seat up to six persons.

Through the glass window of the cable car, passenger gets a breathtaking view of the modernized city of Singapore, harbor bustling with workers, and some tiny islands off the coast of Singapore.

As the cable car is hung so high in the air, ships on the sea appear to be small boats or the boats like toys. You can view workers on the ships in the dockyard below busily moving cargo from the ships to the shore or from the quay on the waiting ships by looking through binoculars or a telescope. On sunny day, the sky above is beautifully blue and the sea below looks crystal blue.

Passengers have adequate time to capture a magnificent view during a trip to Sentosa Island as the cable car moves at a leisurely manner. When reaching the island, the visitor can walk round viewing some interesting sights or swim in the artificial lagoon. The visitor can also take a bus to travel round the island if he or she is not eager to walk. Golf lovers can have a round of golf course on this island.

After spending some memorable times on the island, you have to take a cable car back to Mount Faber. The return trip is equally enjoyable and interesting as during the trip to Sentosa Island.
