Two Views of the Eiffel Tower, Paris, France

This is a photograph of The Eiffel Tower as it looked in 1971. The tower can be seen from across the bridge which is probably where I was when I snapped it. It looks like a radio tower doesn't. Who would like to take a guess as to what function if any it ever served as we all know towers are service towers. What service did the Eiffel Tower serve?

Here ladies and gentlemen we have my daughter in Paris enjoying what I thought was an éclair but was corrected by her royal traveler an Eiffel pancake.. Really.

The tower doesn't look any worse for wear as this photograph is taken in 2007. The sage question of the tower remains, what service did the Eiffel Tower perform. Maybe it picks up radio signals from Mars!

The Popular and the Not So Popular London Tourist Attractions

A trip to London can mean packing in many attractions in a short space of time and can seem a bit daunting at first look. With plenty to see and do on offer, you'll never be at a loose end and may wonder how you are going to manage it all.

The best way to approach your trip is to start by picking out the things that interest you most and then fitting in as many of the other attractions as possible around that.

A ride on The London Eye is probably the best way to achieve an over view of the city and get a feel for the layout. As it takes its tranquil journey in an arc over the land you can sit back, relax and pick out the buildings and landmarks you hope to visit. The other way to do this is by taking a cruise down The River Thames. This has the added bonus of being accompanied by a guide who will point out anything of interest and answer any questions you might have.

Staying in London can be expensive, not only for the accommodation itself, but for the sightseeing and attractions you'll want to experience while there. To keep the costs down it's perfectly possible to book a cheaper hotel, leaving you more of your hard earned money to spend on enjoying yourself. Choose carefully. Check the standards of the hotel by reading up on what previous guests have to say about it. You can do this by visiting the hotel's website itself or by browsing various travel websites that list customer reviews.

Probably at the top of most people's list of must dos while in the city is The Tower of London and Buckingham Palace. You can't visit London without seeing these most famous attractions, but there are plenty of other, less popular things you might want to experience to give you more of a balance. Some of these are also inexpensive and even free to attend.

Speakers Corner, for example, is a fascinating place to visit. Even if you have nothing to say for yourself once there, it can be riveting to simply stand and listen to the other speakers. Camden Markets attract 500,000 visitors per week and specialise in vintage clothing as well as up and coming young designers, thus offering an insight into the possible trends and fashions of tomorrow. You don't have to buy anything if you don't want to, but it's certainly worth a look.

Something else you can view for free that you should make sure you visit while in London is The Diana, Princess of Wales' Memorial Fountain in Hyde Park. There's much emotion attached to this $6.5 million memorial, and nobody goes away unmoved.

Whatever you decide to do while in London, from the many museums and art galleries and taking afternoon tea at the Ritz, to browsing the shops and soaking up the atmosphere, you don't have to spend a fortune. Strike the right balance between the must do attractions and the less popular free sights and experiences, and you'll have a trip you'll never forget.

Why Australia Is a Great Country

Australia is a well-developed country and it is one of the most attractive destinations in the world. Here are the reasons why:

The air quality in Australia is always clean. It is not like the other highly populated developed countries which has low quality air with pollutants.

The fun tourist attractions of the state of Queensland are very popular for those who like the warm climates. These include Dreamworld, Warner Bros. Movie World, Seaworld, and the very wet and wild world. There are also the alpine areas in the south-east regions of Australia. You could ski down at the most famous ski resort in the country, Thredbo. There are also the very big Perisher Blue, The budget friendly Selwyn snowfields, or even ski or slide down Australia's most famous and highest mountain, Mt Kosciuszko (koz-si-us-ko) which is 2228 meters high at Charlotte Pass, the highest village in Australia.

The climate in Australia isn't only one, but all five. From the dry deserts of Outback Australia to the hot and wet tropics in North Eastern Australia to the cold alpine regions of South-Eastern Australia or go to the island state Tasmania for very cool rains.

There are many Australian icons in that are very famous all around the world especially the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Ayers Rock (Uluru), the Kimberleys or if you like Opera and Classical Music, go to the Sydney Opera House where you will enjoy music from the Sydney Symphony and Chamber Orchestra.

If your lucky enough, you might stumble on gold at the Bathurst Gold Mines which is 100 km. west of Sydney. There is real gold preserved at the mines. Although I never been there, I know its very famous.

So come on to Australia and experience it!

If your still unconvinced, go to

Barbados

Barbados's many tourist attractions, location, people, and interesting facts are what makes it a wonderful island.

Barbados is located in 14N and 59W.This Island was once a British Colony that held slaves who harvested sugar cane. This island is also in the northwestern hemisphere. It is surrounded by the Caribbean and Atlantic Ocean. It is about 166 square miles or 430 square km. Also, because of its relative location and size it has many beaches and places for water type activities.

Another great thing is Barbados's rich culture. The total population is 259,000. Also, these people's ancestors were African and British origin. They were slaves that worked and colonized it after slavery was abolished. The main language is English, so if you plan on going there you're all set. And since the temperature is hot they wear light European clothing.

Next to the great culture, Barbados also has many great places to visit. At the island's capital city of Bridgetown there are many shops, hotels, and churches. The same goes for Speight town Also you can enjoy luxurious scenery at Mullins Beach and enjoy the beautiful bay at Sandy Lane.

Next are the islands food, economy, and education. One other thing is that nearly all the adults on Barbados can read. This comes from the law that every child between the ages of 5-16 must attend school. So when they grow up many adults can read and write. The harvesting of sugar cane is a very important industry, but tourist attractions are achieving it in importance. Tourists should also prepare for some dishes like the flying fish burger or okra pudding or even roasted suckling pigs. The sugar cane also creates sweet and spicy rum that one person in the 17 century called “Devilish.”

In conclusion, the diverse culture, location, and tourist attractions are what make this country a great vacation spot for weary workers or for people who just want to have fun and a good time.
