In summer, Chicago showcases some of the best summer festivals with different themes. One get to see almost all types of summer festivals in Chicago. Entertainment festivals are the most famous of them. Besides Entertainment Festivals, Taste of Chicago is a very famous festival which has a lot of food items and Chicago's traditional food varieties. Every year millions of visitors get to eat hundreds of food items here. One can see a wide range of food stalls and one can eat different varieties of food items from around the world and the special attraction of this food festival is different varieties of Chicago traditional food items.

The Chicago Air and Water show is a very big show held in summer which one can not miss. It is the largest free air and water show in the United States. Over two million people around the world come to see this show every summer. It is held at the shores of lake Michigan for a weekend every August.

Lincoln Park is one of the biggest parks in the world with around 1200 acres of area along lke Michigan's shore. It is a great place to spend a summer day in Chicago. There is a zoo in the park with a wide range of species. Other things one can see in this park are Lincoln Park Conservatory, the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum and the North Avenue Beach

One of Chicago's most famous landmarks, Buckingham Fountain is the one thing you can not afford to miss. In summer, it has an hourly water display which lasts for twenty minutes. It is a great water display to see as it is very large display and it looks astounding at nights with different colored lights and music.

One of the Chicago's historic places, Wrigley Field is the best of the historic places. It is a great place to visit and one get to see different historic pieces here.

Chicago beaches are the most beautiful beaches in the United States. They are calm water beaches with fantastic sights of blue and green water. It feels very serene to roam around the beaches as there won't be any waves and all one gets to see is beautiful, calm water.

Navy Pier and Millennium Park are the other great places to visit on a summer day. We have not one, not two but many options when we go to Chicago in summer. It is one of those places which are more enjoyable in summers.

Museums

Many museums have children areas where the kids can learn science, history, and anthropology. The prices are pretty inexpensive and unless you live in an extremely rural area, you can find a museum close to you. When I lived in Vernal, Utah, we used to visit a small museum filled with bones. We would visit this museum one or two times a year. The museum would change some of its exhibits about once a year.

Libraries

Many of the libraries across the nation are trying to get more customers for their services. You can find music, books, and computers. Many of the libraries hold free concerts. Also you can find pamphlets and other notices of festivals, rendezvous, etc in your area.

Community Centers/Swimming Pools

Another inexpensive center for swimming and other community offerings is at your community center. Many centers have indoor swimming pools where you can get swimming lessons for your little ones.

Hobbies

Summer is a great time to catch up on your hobbies. If you like to knit, crochet, or sew, shops like Michaels provide classes. The local newspaper print organizational meetings for hobbies such as politics, amateur radio, trains, and etc If you don't know where to find others who like your favorite hobby, you might go to a store that sells supplies. The owners/managers can help you find others with the same hobby.

Garage Sales

If you are into antique shopping or even looking at other people's junk, searching out garage sales is for you. The best time is early before anyone else has picked over the stuff. You can see other parts of your city and meet new people. Sometimes groups of people will get together to do jumble sales. For instance, the Lutheran Church in our area does a huge jumble sale in their parking lot every Saturday during the summer months.

Local Tourists

Be a tourist in your own city or town. For instance, I am thirty minutes from Lake Tahoe. We go up and walk along the beach, watch the birds, and collect fir cones. So look around you. What can you do in your area? Do you live near the ocean? Are you close to the capital building? Go see that tourist trap that you have never seen because you were to busy traveling somewhere else.

So even though it is going to be a rough travel year, take some time and enjoy where you are. At the very least, catch up on your T.V. shows. Sit in your backyard with a hammock and enjoy the birds. It will save you time, money, and stress.

The weather is cold because the place is located in highlands. Many people used to visit the place mostly during summer vacation or holy week. During those times, families have more time traveling places. Traveling with your family even once a year gives a good foundation and makes all family members become more close with each other. They leave the place fulfilled even though they spent their few bucks just for a vacation.

Transportation can be both land and air, but due to high mountains, only small aircrafts are obliged. Most people travel through land even though the travel span is six hours.

During Rainy days, few people are entering the city because of slippery roads. Since the city is located in highlands, it is bounded with numerous creeks.

Good and durable brooms came from the city. It cost less than the actual price in other parts of the provinces and in Metro Manila. Most business people come to buy some of their stuff and sell them in their own place.
