Five Things to Do in Florence

SHOP

On your first day in florence I would recommend taking a large sum of money (nothing short of 300 dollars) and going crazy. Buy what you want a disregard the prices. If you're reading this before your going I would start setting aside for this now. No matter how much self control you have I dare you not go buy at least one thing and wish you had bought a dozen others. This way you won't have to leave Florence wanting and you can go home with presents for somebody (most likely yoursefl). This will also familiarize yourself with the city. Some places were you must go are the San Lorenzo Market, a three block market packed to the bursting point with leather goods. Also, go to the Ponte Vecchio if looking for gold and silver jewelry, plus it is just about the most beautiful bridge you will ever see. Aside from those two places there aren't many must hit places so just walk around because shops line every street with fares from food to more jewelry to suits to souvenirs.

CLIMB THE DUOMO

Florence's most impressive church has an impressive feature. A winding claustrophobic path of steep stairs can be taken from the bottom of the church to the very top. This is an expierence like no other because first of all these passages transport you back to the renessance. They're completely stone and in some places spiral and in others they just wind so it gives you the most enbelievably feeling on earth. Once you're on top, it's even better. You have a birds eye view of the entire city and the clay-redish rooftops is all you can see inside the city limits. And then you look a little further and you see the hills. The mountains outside of florence are the most amazing thing ever which hold castles, villas and endless expanses of olive trees.

EXPLORE A ROAD INTO THE HILLS

There are many roads which wind into the endless expanses of the hills outside florence and each one of them is equally stunning. Ask your hotel concierge or any one like that for a map and a suggestion of a road outside florence to hike, take a cab to the city limits or werever the road starts and start walking. I garauntee that after a half an hour you will be immersed in little town Italy. Chances are that after a while you will run into a town, so walk through and explore the town, have lunch or dinner, maybe shop a little if you have any money left from your first day and either keep walking or call a cab service to bring you back (or you can walk back if you wish)

HIKE TO FIESOLE

Fiesole is a scattered little hill town and hour and a half hike from the outside of Florence. It will be much like what you did when you hiked into the mountains except this time you will have an objective. Along th way you will pass many olive farms, probably a villa and many nice houses. You will know you are there from the clock tower which is at the lower portion of the town. Across from it is a bus stop which will most likely be your escape route. I would suggest having lunch then walking further into the town to see real Italy. If you pick the right road you might even find your way to the very top of one of Italy's many mountains giving you a great view. Whatever you pick to do I would suggest taking the bus back because more often than not you will be pretty beat by this.

UFFIZI

Unfortuantly I didn't get to go to the Uffizi during my time in Florence because I only had 3 days so instead I hiked to Fiesole. What I do know is that many of the renessance's great works of art are kept here including The David and The Birth of Venus. Deffiantly a must see if you ever go to Florence.

Bryce Canyon

Bryce Canyon is a beautiful canyon 250 miles southeast of Salt Lake City. Its color is a deep orange glow. The climate of Bryce Canyon is generally mild in summer. The rim of the canyon stands at 8,000 feet, making summer temperatures moderate at around 80ºF. The high altitude brings cold temperatures and snow during winter.

An interesting fact about the canyon is that it's really not a canyon. It is the eastern slope of the Puansaguant plateau. Bryce Canyon boasts almost 400 native species of plant life. In the high mountains, you can find a deep forest of spruce and fir, with stands of quaking aspen. There are also desert grasses, sagebrush, and a few cacti. Many interesting animals call the canyon their home. Mammals in the canyon include: cougars/mountain lions, golden mountain squirrels, Utah prairie dogs, mule deer, ground squirrels, bobcats, ringtail cats, foxes, and hawks. Reptiles, amphibians, and fish are also found in the canyon. They include great basin rattlesnakes, short horned lizards or horny toads, side-blotched lizards, and tiger salamanders. There are many different species of birds seen in the Bryce Canyon. The two most commonly found ones are the stellar jays and ravens. Golden eagles have also been spotted in the canyon.

The higher elevations of Bryce Canyon have a lumpy, broken, and random texture. Bryce Canyon's unique spires attract tourists year round. These spires have a strange name - hoodoos! Their sizes range from the height of a man to the height of a ten story building! The Hoodoos were formed from millions of years of being shaped by water and ice. I have concluded that Bryce Canyon is a wonderful place with many interesting learning experiences.

Victoria Peak in Hong Kong

Why do tourists believe that Hong Kong is the best destination for a well comfortable and worthy vacation? Well known tourist spots and advanced technology are common attractions of the Country. Basically, includes the different views that travelers would love to take pictures, comfortable place to stay, clean environment, friendly people and the technology that makes an easier life for the travelers.

One of the best attraction is the Victoria Peak also know as the Peak. Because of its popularity, the local people is yearning to stay to build their own place at the peak. Unfortunately, most residents here are comprised of gentries that can afford to stay at an expensive well known place all over the world.

How do the people get there? When the tramway was opened, a number of people would love to ride to get them up the hillside to be able to reach the peak. This transportation has been operational for over one hundred years now and no accidents have been reported ever since. It runs from 5:40 am to 1 am. To get a better side of the view, try to ride on the right side of the Tram. Your journey to reach the summit will take you only eight minutes.

Reaching the top is not easy especially to hikers, but viewing from the top especially during night time makes your weariness disappear. Victoria Peak is the highest point at about 554 meters above sea level that occupies the western part of the island.

Inside the Peak Tower, there are restaurants where you can eat while viewing from the peak, shops to buy your souvenirs and other stuff, wax museum and an observation deck to view the different attractions. Attractions at the peak are Madame Tussauds Hong Kong, peak Explorer Motion Simulator and Ripley's Believe it or Not! Auditorium.

The place is great for hiking. Moreover, you have to bring hiking gear, good shoes and socks for biting insects, and not to forget also your camera for some posing time. While hiking, you can see high bamboos, hibiscus, vines and a lot more. Starting from Lunar Road opposite the Peak Tram upper terminus at 395 above sea level up to Harlech Road, you will see the views all the way to China and Macau. From Harlech View, you will see the Harbor that takes you two hours to complete.

The best time to travel to Victoria Peak is later afternoon on a clear day to see the change from daytime to dusk and from dusk to nighttime. However, if it is rainy or smoggy, don't force yourself to go because there are no good views to see.

It makes you feel proud to visit the place. As if you are in heaven trying to look down to see the beautiful and astonishing views. Visit the place and make yourself feel better and proud.
