L'Houstalet: Flying Foxes

Established since 1972, L'Houstalet is a French Restaurant, Bar and Nightclub in Vanuatu. This is supposed to be one of those most popular casual restaurants that serve pizza and pasta and traditional French desserts. The difference is their specialties include snails, coconut crab and flying fox. Flying foxes also known as fruit bats are the largest bats in the world.

Archipelago: Zebra, Kangaroo, Peacock, Locusts and Crickets 

Archipelago restaurant is an international fusion of culinary influences that brings together the exotic, exciting, and unexpected right in the center of London. How would you like to dine on seared zebra with a port & juniper sauce and sour green mango soba noodles? How about some peanut-crusted wildebeest rump? Or would you rather have the wok-seared frog's legs cashew and callaloo with ginger & coriander rice? If you’re not ready for that, try the lunch-time tasting menu of African crocodile bites and the spiced Australian kangaroo fillet instead.  Of course you can always opt for the chilli and garlic locusts and crickets, and the chocolate covered scorpions. The restaurant’s reviews include: “Archipelago is actually a serious restaurant, with an extremely competent chef” and “dishes make as much of an impact as the striking setting...flavours are vivid and there's plenty of less eccentric choices.”

Shock Legend Restaurant: Lizards, Scorpions and Toads

Insects have long been considered culinary favorites in Thailand where street stalls offers mounds of crunchy pan-fried crickets, grasshoppers and beetles. It wouldn’t come as a surprise if Shock Legend Restaurant’s waiters don scary masks while spooky music can be heard on the background to create just the right dinner ambiance as guests sample on creepy crawlies such as lizards, scorpions and chili-fried toads. They say fried lizards tastes like fried shrimp while toad and gecko tastes like chicken.

Kaokeng Beef Restaurant: Cow Eyes, Tendons, Intestines and Heart

Kaongkeng Beef Restaurant in Kinmen, Taiwan is one steakhouse you will never forget. It’s the perfect place to familiarize a cow’s anatomy. Appetizer includes sliced tongue and shredded stomach which comes with chili sauce and coriander leaves, to be followed by crispy and greasy deep fried large intestine. A “whole cow” banquet serves up to 15 people. You need around two hours to try on the 17 dishes served which includes curried cow eyes, bull’s penis in brown sauce, tendons in spicy sauce and cow’s heart in sesame oil. A “half cow” banquet is also available.

Guo-li-zhuang: Animal Penises and Testicles

Located beside Beijings West Lake is China’s first specialty penis restaurant. At Guo-li-zhuang restaurant, the reproductive organs of yaks, donkeys, oxen and even seals are part of every dish except for the ones containing testicles. A trained waitress with a nutritionist will explain the menu to brag about the medicinal value of the food when you make reservations. Some dishes looks indistinguishable such as the simple goat penis, sliced, dipped in flour, fried and skewered with soy sauce. For beginners, the nutritionist recommends a sampling of six types of penis and four testicles, boiled in chicken stock. The deer and the Mongolian goat were said to look and feel like overcooked squid tentacles. The Xinjiang horse and donkey both came sliced lengthwise looking like bacon but the horse are light and fatty while the donkey has a firm color and taste. The only one with bone in it is the dog penis. The testicles are slightly crumbly and tastes better with sesame, soy and chili dips. A specialty that requires advance ordering is the Canadian seal penis. Liquids include deer-penis juice.

Um, "Vegetarian chicken"? Does this mean that the chicken was a vegetarian and that means vegetarians can eat it? I think that they may have missed the point of the word vegetarian on this menu.

This menu found in Ningbo, China sounds really delicious until you get to the "Pig's fore shank with strange flavor". What exactly do they mean by strange?

How about some grilled spam? I've heard that it is a local delicacy in some Hawaiian cultures but I'm just not sure about it. I'm sure that they probably would feel the same way about eatting bison, which really isn't that uncommon where I live in Canada.

This Italian menu offers pizzas with coocked arm and hard harm. Also, a rocket. I'm not sure I really feel like eating arms and rockets tonight dear. Maybe a Hawaiian. Pizza that is, not person.

This menu seems pretty normal until you read -- short ends, long ends or burnt end on bun. I'm not sure what exactly it is that they're selling the ends of... And then, of course, there's the 4 boner plate. Maybe that's what they're selling the ends of!

   This one is very impressive, seeing how getting a tattoo of a dot is very painful. This record was set by Lucky Diamond Rich who has spent 1000 hours of his life getting tattoos that cover his entire body.

2. Most Books Typed Backwards

   This one seems very tricky ... I still don't know where anyone would get the idea to do this. It's amazing, actually, seeing as he did it entirely by memory. Michele Santelia of Campobasso, Italy typed 58 books backwards without looking at the screen and with a blank keyboard. He typed books in their original language ... ranging from The Odyssey to The Book of the Dead.

   This one I've heard of, but I still think these guys are crazy, in a good way. In 1999 Jackie Bibby and Rosie Reynolds-McCasland sat in different bathtubs both with 75 rattle snakes in Los Angeles California.

   One of the same guys as the last record, still insane, still awesome. In 2006, Jackie Bibby held 10 Rattle Snakes in his mouth for 10 seconds. In New York City, this is one of many Jackie Bibby Records.

5. Car Window Opened by a Dog the Fastest

   I think this record is cool because if I had a dog that could open a window for me, my ultimate dream would come true. Striker, a border collie owned by Francis V. Gadassi from Hungary, set this record.

6. Largest Collection of Penguins

   Most people have collections. Like me they, keep you from going crazy I collect human hair. Just kidding, but this collection is very impressive. It consist of 2,520 different penguins. And belongs to Brigit Berends.

7. Largest Gathering of People Dressed As Gorillas

   
   
   I can't really type this with a straight face because it is so hilarious of a concept. This gathering consisted of 637 people dressed as gorillas. It was organized to raise money for the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund.

   This one is great. As an active reader, I find this one very entertaining. The full title is "Per favore dite a mia madre che faccio il pubblicitario lei pensa che sono un pierre e che quindi regalo manciate di free entry e consumazioni gratis a chi mi pare, rido coi vips, i calciatori le veline e le giornaliste, leggo Novella e mi fotografano i paparazzi, entro neI privé saltando la coda, bevo senza pagare, sono ghiotto di tartine e gin tonic, ho la casa piena di oggetti di design, conosco Paris Hilton, Tom Ford ed Emilio." It was written by Davide Ciliberte of Italy.

9. Fastest Modeling of a Balloon Dog

   
   
   I one reason I find this interesting is because it brings back horrible, horrible memories. This record is amazing, seeing as if most people even attempted to create a balloon dog it would blow up in their face, me included.

10. Fastest Time to Run Across 100 Meters of Ice

    I really don't know where anyone would get the idea to do this, but it is an amazing feat nonetheless. This was beaten in 2006 by, Nico Surings from Netherlands, in 17.35 seconds.
