Do you suffer from jet lag every time you fly? Well jet lag can happen to anyone. It’s not a disease or that serious and complicated. Everyone at times get jet lag and though it’s not that serious, jet lag can make you waste a day or a two while trying to recover.  Causes of jet lags are mainly due to change in temperature, difference in daylight saving time and so on, anyone can avoid jet lag. So, here are some tips and trick that will help you avoid jet lag, next time you fly.

• For those flying to a destination with a complete daylight saving, start preparing you schedule in advance such as sleep and wake up an hour earlier everyday and so on. But if your visit is only for a day or two, maintain the same daily schedule as usual.

• While flying, please avoid alcoholic beverages, rest well, take naps during daytime. If you are prone to motion sickness do bring along some medicine.

• While booking your flight, try to book a flight scheduled to reach at night, so you can head straight to bed right after reaching.

• Incase if your flight reaches your destination in the morning or afternoon, try not to head straight to bed, no matter how tired and sleepy you are. Instead take a shower, then enjoy a short tour of the city by visiting nearby attractions, get an early dinner and head to bed. By doing this you will have a tough day but you can enjoy exploring the city as a local from the next day.

• Sleeping pills, jet lag prevention medicines are also highly recommended. Please consult your doctor before any purchase.

I wish to point out that the optimum flying experience is often out of the hands of the airline employees. The passengers themselves are to blame for the poor airline reviews. Flying is like going to Disneyland on the warmest and most populated day. You just have to be patient waiting in a three hour line to fly on Dumbo with the rest of humanity.

Here are some things that are not the airline carrier's problem:

1. You get an “organized, herding” kind of feeling and you have an unexplained deep desire to “moo.”.
2. The guy next to you has not bathed in a while and the stench makes your eyes water
3. A huge woman has chosen the middle seat. Her rump expands over to your seat. You are in the window seat and literally seating on the window shade.
4. The gentleman in the middle seat takes both arm rests and insists on reading his newspaper even if his elbow knocks you in the ribs
5. The guy behind you keeps yelling the latest news article that he is reading in his magazine. Unfortunately he is hard of hearing and he thinks everyone else is as well. “I SAID LITTLE GREEN MEN HAVE INVADED CALIFORNIA CAN YOU IMAGINE THAT?”
6. The kid in front of you gets out of his seatbelt turns around, smiles and quickly drools in your face. Isn't he precious?
7. The lady in front of you just keeps ordering drinks as her kids jump on the seats, scream and argue. “Sit down little Jimmy or I will be forced to order another white wine and I mean it!”
8. The guy next to you tells you that you look like a famous actress and he would like your phone number. He says this 10 times before you even take-off.
9. The lady behind you chooses the flight home to tell her husband that she wants a divorce and reveals all the sordid details as to why. “Listen Harry, I know about you and Meredith and Jill and FiFi and Bob and the horse and I want a divorce!”
10. The couple next to you decides that the honeymoon destination is not the only place to prove their desire for each other. They decide to ask for a blanket and get an early start on the activities. “Oh baby, yes! Yes!”

So as you can see the airlines are not really to blame for the diverse and often lousy flying experiences that we all encounter. Dealing with the public on overbooked, delayed, and overcrowded flights has to be one of the worst jobs in the world.

But what do you mean charging me an extra $25 bucks to check in my luggage? Why don't you charge the idiot tying up the line trying to load his casket in the overhead after bumping every passenger in the face as he makes his way down the aisle?

Ok now to what I did. First I went on the internet and googled Airlines to see who had the cheapest rate coming back from Hawii, I found flights for all different prices but because it was immediate and not a future date (which by the way will always be cheaper-I will go into this to a bit later) it was more expensive, only about 100 dollars difference of what I was told on the phone. So in desperation I went directly to the Airlines website that he was already booked on to make the reservation for my son to come home sooner than planned, expecting to pay what I was told on the phone. However, to my surprise and astonishment it was 900 dollars less then what I was told on the phone!! I don't know why, and I did nothing out of the ordinary, I had no flight miles to cash or any other special credit.

Before going to a travel agent and spending all your money on them try going directly to the airline you want to fly with online and make the reservations yourself, you can not only make flight reservations, but rental car and hotel reservations as well and most of the time at a discounted rate, research the area of where you are going for discounts and other things that interest you as well, that is what the travel will do and what you will pay them for if you have them make the arrangements for you. Instead of spending lots of money for someone else to do your travel arrangements, taking 15 minutes to do it yourself will save you a lot of money. There are lots of deals out there you just have to look some of my favorites are Jetblue Airlines, Delta Airlines, and Southwest Airlines -easy websites to follow and very helpful people if you need to call them.

To what I said earlier about making future travel arrangements, the futher out you plan your trip the cheaper it will be. I would recommend about 30 days out and call before leaving on your trip a few days early to ensure all is in order and check your flight schedule before you leave on the day of your trip, and always be at the airport two to three hours early to avoid the long lines.

Anderson in his article, World's best: Top 10 airlines named, was carried out by London-based consultancy Skytrax, asked people, who are citizens of 94 countries to rate the world's airlines and received more than 12 million responses.

Best Catering

The category in which the airline's quality of providing good food as well as the way of serving it to its passengers is measured. In the First Class accommodation and flying in intercontinental routes, Gulf Air from the United Arab Emirates topped, next is the airline from Hong Kong, Cathay Pacific of Hong Kong then Swiss of Switzerland. Business Class accommodation and in the intercontinental route, Gulf Air still topped the rank, trailed by Continental Airlines of the United States and preceded by BMI or British Midlands Airway Limited of the United Kingdom. In the Economy Class, Thai Airways of Thailand grabbed the First Place, Austrian Airlines from Austria and Saudi Arabian Airlines from Saudi Arabia ranked 2nd and 3rd respectively. If you like to eat and appreciate good food then why not try these airlines.

Best in Class Service

This category deals with the procedures or ways to please passengers while on land and in flight. This is in the intercontinental basis. The First Class accommodation is topped by Cathay Pacific, followed by Singapore Airlines from Singapore and Malaysia Airlines respectively. Business Class is peaked by the British Airways, followed by South African Airways of South Africa and then by Virgin Atlantic Airways of the United Kingdom. Economy Class' Top Three are: Malaysia Airlines; Emirates of the United Arab Emirates and; Singapore Airlines; 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Best Low-Cost Airlines

This category is based upon the fare rates of the airlines. In the worldwide scene, Jet Blue Airways of the United States ranked first and respectively followed by Air Berlin of Germany and Virgin Blue of Australia. While in North America, Jet Blue Airways still topped the rank then followed by WestJet of Canada and Frontier Airlines of the United States. For the continent of Europe, German airline Air Berlin crested preceded by Spain's Vueling Airlines then by Easy Jet of the United Kingdom.

Hong Kong's Cathay Pacific grabbed the highest honor being the world's number one airline. Now, you have the clue on which airlines you choose to fly with. Enjoy being on air!!

American Airlines on almost any domestic flight now either makes you pay for your meal or if they do give you one, it's absolutely awful. I've even been on three plus hour flights that have had nothing more than general beverage service. Not even peanuts or pretzels! Air Tran though, even though it was just pretzels, was very consistent in their service. Better still was that if you asked for more to drink or more pretzels, you got them. Everything was always done with a smile.

Another nice little touch is that every seat has XM Satellite radio in it's seat arm. It's a minor point really, but in an age in which airlines seem to only care about cramming as many people into a metal tube to shoot across the sky, it's nice to see that there's still an airline out there that is willing to offer an extra comfort (no matter how small it may seem) to it's passengers. As if that wasn't enough, if you didn't already have headphones with you, they gave you a pair to use. No rental charges, no need to return them, just enjoy.

Even more than food and creature comfort, is the importance of having clothes upon arrival at your final destination. I was very pleased that not only did all of my luggage arrive with me, but it was all intact as well. In prior travels with American and United airlines I have had my luggage lost approximately 50% of the time. Fortunately it was almost always lost on the return trip, but it was still a major inconvenience. Air Tran on the other hand, lost nothing. Maybe it was careful handling and paying attention to detail on the part of the ground crews, or maybe it was the bright pink tags marked TRANSFER that helped things. Either way, not having your luggage lost is a good thing.

Then there's the icing on the cake, the arrival time. Of the four flights I took, every single one of them was on time or early. Two of the flights arrived thirty minutes ahead of schedule! It was quite a luxury to be able to arrive early for once. On prior trips, United hasn't fared too poorly, but American has caused me to almost miss connections due to unexplainable delayed arrival times. Worse still have been the numerous times in which American has arrived close to on time only to end up sitting on the tarmac for upwards of forty-five minutes before finally arriving at the gate.

Would I fly Air Tran again? You bet I would. It was a pleasure flying on an airline that didn't treat me like another head of cattle. It's been a long time since I've felt like a real traveler again and I look forward to it again.
