Have you ever thought to yourself, “there are so many places in this world with names; I wonder what the longest named is?” If you've thought this, you're probably just a very curious person who wants to know something about the world. I was the same way, so I did a little bit of research, and I have, indeed, found the World's longest place name.

Taumatawhakatangihangakoauauotamateapokaiwhenuakitanatahu

The summit where Tamatea, the man with the big knees, the climber of mountains, the land-swallower who travelled about, played his flute to his loved one. With 85 letters, it is the longest place name in the world.

The former, longer, version at 92 letters,Tetaumatawhakatangihangakoauaotamateaurehaeaturipukapihimaungahoronukupokaiwhenuaakitanatahu, has been entered into the Guinness book of world records as the longest place name in the world.

In easy terms, it's a big hill in New Zealand where some dude with muscular legs that climbed mountains and traveled played his flute to someone he loved.

It's all pretty crazy, but not as crazy as it is interesting, I thought It was cool.. So share this with your friends.. Here's the real challenge. Learn how to pronounce it.
