The Golden boat has extremely friendly staff and a wide range of food ranging from noodles from the noodle bar and the extremely popular Peking duck. Since opening in 2005 they have served up great food and became one of the most respected restaurants in Cairns.

The noodle bar has been very new to the store. The noodles in there are great you get to choose what you want in your noodles and you get to choose what kind of soup you want with the noodles. My favourite is the Tom Yum soup which is a spicy soup. It's Delicious. They also serve a drink now named "bubble tea". Bubble tea is a combination of things like Milk powder, condensed milk, the range of flavours like taro, chocolate, almond etc, syrup and much more. This is a great drink to have at any time of day especially when you are looking for something unique in Cairns because it is one of two places that serves it! Bubble tea is now my favourite drink because it gives you something to chew on it is very good.

The food is exquisite and they have lots of it on their Al-La-Carte menu. There are lots to go around, its juicy, its yum and it really makes you full. It's the best chinese food I have ever tasted in my entire life. Here's how it works you go in and one of there friendly staff seats you down in the large dinning area, then they will give you a menu so you can order off, in no time the chef cooks your delicious meal. They also have a wide range of LIVE seafood, you can choose from a fish name coral trout, mudcrabs, abalone which is a sort of shell fish and ginormous live crayfish! It then gets cooked in the method you like and it is served up to you with a minimum of fuss.

They also cater for large groups of people ranging from eight people to 200 people because they have a large second level where a maximum of 200 people can sit. So you can have a party or a business function. There dinning room is huge so there is room for everyone.

In the mornings there is something call Yum-Cha which mean drinking tea in chinese. The food trolleys which have food in them get pushed around to your table and you get to pick what you like there is seaweed and prawn, Soy sauce noodle, deserts and so much more that you will be so full you won't be able to eat another bite!
