Oakwood: Good Theme Park

Oakwood is a theme park situated in the UK. It resides at the A40 eight miles before Haverfordwest. It is avery good theme park in which you spend at least a day there. It contains 23 main attractions but during the year, some special events happen such as magic shows, treasure hunts and fireworks as well. I have been to Oakwood 3 times already so i know what i am talking about. Anyway out of the 23 attractions the 3 most scary rides in my opinion are:

Vertigo

Megaphobia(rollercoaster)

Speed(rollercoaster-very fast)

The roller coasters such as Speed and Megaphobia are scary to young children so be careful if you are taking them on them. Vertigo can be described as this:Skydiver and flings you everywhere as if you are on a rubber band! Dont worry the rope is sturdier than a rubber band but you have to be minium height to go on Vertigo. The website is shown here.

Okay anyway where was i? It is very easy to find Oakwood so thats resolved. Sometimes, though when the weather is really bad, some of the more 'high' rides are generally closed for park customer safety. About the prices anyway. You bring your family along you get a nice discount. As with most Theme Parks, the disabled and the senior citizens get a ood discount as well. Added to this, if you book online(3 days before your visit minimum) you get a huge 10% discount. If you take advantage of this, the other discounts, the holiday discounts as well, you could save a mint and take your family there for so much less!

Oakwood also feautures a nice Plan Your Visit page for the family or solos. This helps you plan in advance to the kids boredom in the car, The 'Are We There Yet?' comments, pets, eating, where to park etc. This is very useful if you want to make sure that everything on your fun day at Oakwood goes without a hitch and you don't regret it for the rest of your life.

Well anyway good luck!

I Will Be Back!!(In terminater accent)

Holiday World

Holiday World, formerly known as Santa Clause Land, is located in Santa Claus, Indiana. Holiday World is known for their large and fast wooden roller coasters, their free soft drinks and sunscreen, and their Splashin' Safari water park. Costing only $39.95 per adult for both Holiday World and Splashin' Safari, no wonder the park is said to be "Number one for family fun." Once you pay admittance, you can ride all rides in both parks as many times as you want for no extra charge. You can get tickets at discount prices by buying more than fifteen or more tickets at a time, purchasing two consecutive day tickets, visiting the park after 3:00 P.M., bringing in an empty Pepsi can, or by buying season tickets. The parking, inner tubes, shows, sunscreen, and soft drinks are always free.

There are always different shows and performances that you can see. There are various singing and dancing groups. The diving show is always a crowd pleaser. You can hear a story being told by Santa Clause himself. The music shows vary from country, to gospel, to oldies, and even karaoke. You are sure to be entertained and have a few laughs no matter what show you decide to see.

Their wooden roller coasters consist of the Raven, the Legend, and the Voyage. The Voyage roller coaster has been voted number one wooden roller coaster in the planet. It's maximum speed is 67.4 miles per hour. The Raven is the first wooden roller coaster that was built at Holiday World. It was first introduced to the world in 1995, and has been loved by thrill seekers ever since. The Raven was named the number one wooden roller coaster on the planet from the year 2000 through 2003 and has remained a Top 10 coaster ever since. It is okay to scream, but be warned, there are hidden cameras that will take your picture and everyone can see after the ride is over!

Splashin' Safari is definitely the best water park that I have ever been to. There are many different water slides to go down. There are two large wave pools. You can be lazy and float around in an inner tube in the lazy river. You can race your friends by going down the Jungle Racer and seeing your times on a large screen. You will be able to slide, splash, laugh, climb, and "monkey around" in the new Kima Bay water fun park. The Monsoon Lagoon is similar. The Bahari is a larger wave pool with less intense waves than the original wave pool. The Zinga is a large slide where up to four people can ride in the same tube. You are in an enclosed slide, until you are slung into the large funnel. It is so much fun! The Zoombabwe, Watubee, the Bamboo Chute, and the Amazoom are other fun water slides. With the Otorongo, you have your choice of slides: the Oto, the Ron, or the Go.

The Raging Rapids and the Frightful Falls are two rides that will get you wet and cool you off outside of the Splashin' Safari. The Rapids will seat your eigtht and will take you around a little town that is full of suprises! The Frightful Falls is a log ride that goes up high, and drops you fast. Be sure to smile; your picture is taken in the middle of the fall. You will definitely get wet in both of these rides.

The Liberty Launch is like the reverse of other theme park's Hellevator. In the launch, hydrolics launch you up high into the sky. Paul Revere's Midnight Ride looks like a large spider or octopus. Your cart will spin in circles as you go around, up, and down. The Scarecrow Scrambler is a similar ride, but it does not go up and down. You can bump into someone you know, in the Rough Riders bumper cars, that is! There are also bumper boats. There are many different rides for the little ones to enjoy as well.

Be sure to visit one of the many gift shops. Hungry? You have many options of food, from Mexican, to pizza, to burgers, to chicken strips, dippin dots, funnel cakes, ice cream cones, and just about everything else you could crave.

Thrills, chills, sun, and fun: that is what you can expect by going to Holiday World. There is fun for the entire family, no matter what age or interests. There are shows, roller coasters, trains, the Holidog, rides, water, and yesSanta himself. The only thing missing is you! There are lifeguards and slide attendants on duty at all time for your safety. All of this fun, for one low price. What is better than that?! So what are you waiting for? Come on down to Santa Claus, Indiana and visit Holiday World and Splashin' Safari.

Welcome to Aquatica

Sea World of Orlando, Florida is a favorite destination of many people in America. Here you can find sea animals of all shapes and sizes, including Shamu the killer whale, Sea World's mascot. And now, Sea World has a new attraction to draw in visitors. Just outside of the main gates of Sea World is Aquatica, the new water park created to compliment Sea World itself.

Aquatica has just opened, so I thought it would be in everyone's best interest to toss in a review and let people get my perspective on this new park.

Overall, I give the park a big thumbs-up. It's nicely built, spread out enough so that there aren't huge masses of people everywhere but compact enough to make getting around easy. Added to this is one of the rides, Roa's Rapids. The Rapids are a modified version of the traditional Lazy River, without use of rafts and with much stronger currents. In addition to being a fun - and exercising - ride, the two entrances provide a quick way to get between the two sides of the park. Using the Rapids as a kind of people-mover is an efficient and enjoyable way to reduce traffic around the park.

Also, for those who don't feel like riding the rapids without a raft, this park does feature a lazy river of more traditional proportions. Plus, the river flows past a giant fish tank and a viewing point for the dolphin pool.

Equally well-done are the slide towers themselves. Two of the towers lead to a series of identical slides, one leading to four raft slides and the other leading to eight speed slides. This approach allows for the rapid movement of the lines, meaning less time spent waiting and more time spent sliding.

All of the slides located at Aquatica are worth the wait, whatever it may be. The eight-way speed slide is an incredible experience. Beginning with a short ride through an enclosed tube, the slide then opens up into a flat, level portion just about five feet long. From this point, you can see most of Aquatica and Sea World beyond. Then, after a split second, the slide drops from beneath you and you drop down the racer portion of the slide.

Did I mention this is all head-first? You're lying on a mat this whole time, but experiencing this head-first plummet is like nothing I've ever done before. It was awesome, to say the least.

Other slides are equally satisfying. The four-way tube slide is a short wait for a great ride. Two of the four slides are mostly enclosed, opening up just before the drop into the splash pool. The other two open up briefly before that for another quick drop. Overall, this slide is worth the usually-short wait for the ride.

The park's signature slide is a speed slide which passes through a tank containing 4 dolphins. This one tends to have the longest wait, but even so, lines tend to move quickly and it is a great slide. These dolphins are not the normal bottlenose dolphins; instead, they are dolphins that look like small killer whales and are much more amusing. They are very playful and tend to swim upside down, and the underwater viewing tank lets people watch the dolphins play and gives a shelter if the Florida rains come.

Another thing that makes this park great is one of the little things. At each slide, an automated voice recording lists the slide's regulations and rules for all to hear. The voice they use is Australian. I know this has no real implication or benefit, it just seemed to fit the park and it amused me to no end while I was in line.

For those who aren't interested in sliding, the park also features two wave pools. Riding the waves can be relaxing and fun, and of course there are periods of calm between the storms when those who aren't in to wavehopping can swim in a nice, calm environment.

Another great aspect of this park is the ability to buy an all-day pass for food. If you plan to stay at the park the entire day, getting an all-day pass will end up saving you money on food in the park. Plus, the food and drinks on the park are quite good and there's a great selection to choose from. Also good to know is if you decide to eat early, you can generally avoid food lines. Try to gauge when everyone else will be eating and eat before them; then, when you're done eating, the slides will be less crowded as more people are eating.

One other important piece of insider information: If you get your ticket for entry on-line, you can get in to the park an hour early. This can prove invaluable, as the lines for everything get only longer as the day goes on. Also, there is only one way into and out of the park, so traffic will get backed up. Be ready for a wait if you come at the general admission time.

The only attraction at this park I don't give a five-star review to is the “toilet bowl” slide. It's not set up as well as the other slides, and unfortunately it is not a body slide. By using a tube, you lose the slingshot effect and the drop from the bottom, making this slide a little below par. Also annoying is the fact that you can only access the slide from the Lazy River, meaning you effectively have to wait in two lines to ride this slide. Overall, this one isn't worth the wait, but it's the only slide to fit into htat category.

Overall, this is a great new waterpark. I recommend it to all Sea World visitors and waterpark enthusiasts alike.

Travel to Blackpool

Blackpool is a 6 hour journey from London ' s Victoria coach station. The fare for a single adult using National Express is around £40 return. For more information about prices for where you are, check with your local tourist board. Travelling to Blackpool is best done in the summer months when the weather is at its best. One of the most exciting places to stay at is the Viking Hotel with its non-smoking facilities and cabaret stage acts, it ' s a real treat. The May offers are as followed. 3 nights May2 nd -Friday-Monday 5 th for £119 and 4nights May 5th Monday-Friday for £89 both offers include excellent entertainment each night. The price and venues tend to change from time to time so try visiting this site for further details.

The restaurant is beautifully designed with chairs and tables set out in an orderly fashion. The added attraction is the amazing view of the seafront while you indulge in your food and if you 're lucky enough, you may get the same experience from your hotel room depending on which direction your window is facing.

Though some parts of the room don ' t give much in the way of size, there is a double bed, so there ' s plenty of space to stretch out after a long day. Each room has its own television set with satellite channels as well as local ones. The en-suite bathroom has its own shower, toilet and the usual toiletries.

This city is known for its famous tram service which has been around since the 1 st World War, and with the town centre just 5-10min ride away, it ' s a useful convenience as well as an uplifting experience for first time users. They come in different colours and styles, sheltered and open topped. I never got the chance to travel on the roofless ones, but it worth a try. Ticket prices for trams through Metro Coastline is £5.95 for an adult and £5.45 for a child. More information can be found at here When travelling on one, it gives you an unusual feeling of being on a railway train that ' s travelling on the streets of Blackpool. During your stay, take full advantage of the tram service. They will take you up to Fleetwood and back round to the town centre so you get to see more of the cities attraction.

The centre of town is alive with visitors and locals alike. Here you can buy gifts for friends and family, but don ' t forget to pick up some memorabilia for yourself. You can also find confectioneries such as rock candy, hard boiled sweets and delicious fluffy candy floss as well as jewellery, ornaments and many other delightful trinkets.

However, The Pleasure Beach has so many activities and a variety of indoor and outdoor fun interests. There ' s a theme park made just for the younger kids called Beaver Creak. Here children will be kept amused for hours with non-stop fun. One of the most intriguing rides for kids is the Treasure Beach water ride, but be prepared for the big splash at the end of it. Also the Ghost Train is a spectacular scary treat for them as it takes you to a second level of spookiness, but if that ' s too much for them, then they can always try their skills at Alpine Golf. It ' s like golf, but you have to putt the golf balls into tunnels and slightly obstructed holes in the wall and floor.

There are so many extreme Roller Coaster rides to choose from. None of them were for me, I like to keep my feet on the ground, but great for those who like the thrills " n " spills experience. One of the most popular rides in the theme park is the " Infusion " . Unlike the usual method of sitting in a cart, in this one your sitting in a seat that dangles beneath the tracks. The well designed ride is to give you the feeling of diving and with its turns and hoop manoeuvres, it ' s guaranteed to give you the adrenaline rush you seek. It ' s a good idea to take a map of the Pleasure Beach with you, or you may not find what you ' re looking for and you could get lost. These are available at the theme park free of charge or you can print one from their website . When you are there, you will need to purchase special wristbands from their ticket sales office in order to use the facilities. However, you can pre-purchase them before you get their.

Away from the sky-high adventures are some other ideal holiday treats such as the various arcades around the park. This is a place where you can test your skills against some of the most high-tech games and virtual reality simulations. If you ' ve never experience virtual reality, then I highly recommend it. You get to travel through doors and explore the many passageways within the cyber world as well as battling against bad guys. There is also a 4D cinema for the kid where they get to put on their 3D glasses while they watch a movie that seems so real, they can almost reach out and touch it. The seats vibrate with the action as well as twisting and turning while you get sprayed with water. If you want to go for something a little more relaxing, why not try your hand at bowling at the Bowladrome and/or a game of pool. There are many different things to see and do as you go from one arcade to the other.

The seaside is a spotlight destination for those who want to soak up the sun or splash around in the sea. The amazing view of the sea joining with the sky has a definite postcard look. While you are on the sandy beach, you ' ll notice some Donkeys. These are part of the beach resort and kids can ride them up and down the shore for £2. Also the famous Blackpool Tower stands high above all the other surrounding buildings. It was built in the 1890 ' s and just beneath it is a ballroom hall where people came and dance the night away, and over a hundred years later, nothing has changed. People still use it for entertainment venues.

The streets of Blackpool are quite clean especially around the resort areas. However this town truly comes alive at night. The streets are illuminated with thousands upon thousand of multiple coloured lights, even street lamps and buildings don ' t go untouched. It ' s like a British version of Las Vegas 24 hours a day and as you walk down the street, you can hear the music pumping from clubs and coins falling from winning customers slot machine in the nearby casinos. Everything seems to have a good feeling atmosphere to it. At the end of the day, you go back to your hotel room, have a shower and sleep on that luxurious double bed.

For me the city of Blackpool is an excellent choice for a getaway from the busy streets of London. The moment you get of the coach, you can smell the freshness in the air. The town is clean and tidy even on my first day I was worrying if I was getting any dirt from my shoes on the floor. It ' s such a breathtaking experience when you here the sound of the sea crashing and displaying itself in great wonder while seagulls hover above, but watch out for these birds if they get the chance, they ' ll take your food. So if you ' re planning your next holiday why not try this bright city, you ' ll be glad you did.

Harry Potter Theme Park Comes to North America

All American fans of Harry Potter, Hermoine Granger and Ron Weasley rejoice! A new theme park is coming to Orlando Florida in the latter part of 2009, called "The Wizarding World of Harry Potter." Considering how quickly Harry Potter books fly off bookstore shelves, this park will surely be a hit when he lands here in the United States.

The park is the brain child of Universal Orlando Resort, and will feature Hogwarts School in its entire splendor, along with surrounding locales like the forest and the town of Hogsmeade, complete with its colorful and fascinating little stores. Knowing how attention to detail was so important in all the Potter movies, this park is sure to please wizarding enthusiasts of all ages. Their creative team will surely pull out all the stops to re-create Harry's magnificent world of wonder to make the experience as lifelike as possible. There will be rides, activities and attractions that will give us a glimpse into J.K. Rowling's unbelievably creative mind.

Sets from Harry Potter movies past and future will be included in the park's layout. This park will help to appease Americans' hunger for anything Harry. The frenzy caused by both Rowling's movies and books has caused adults and children alike to become devoted followers of Harry, his friends and the faculty at Hogwarts. The world needs more fantasy, that isn't steeped in our everyday real-life problems. It is fun to get lost in the fantasy of a magical world unlike our own. Where else will you see owls deliver mail, or fire-breathing dragons in true-to-life detail?

This new theme park is going to be a huge hit. It may even spark new fans, as well. For those of us who aren't able to visit the real sets in the United Kingdom, Florida will be the perfect locale. Since Orlando has a variety of top attractions like Disney World and others, it is a fitting place for Harry's new home away from home.

The U.S. owes Britain and J.K. Rowling a big "thank you" for allowing us to be able to soon experience the world of Harry Potter here at home. Who knows, this park may the first of many others. After all, the whole world has fallen for Harry Potter with a vengeance. Welcome, Hogwarts School, to Florida. We will make sure to make you feel right at home by coming to class as soon as you open your doors.
