Strawberry Springs

Located 7 miles from Steamboat Springs and nestled between Rocky Peak and Copper Ridge. The water from the springs usually trickles down the hillside at approximately 150 degrees before it enters the stream. The largest pool is kept at 104 Degrees while the smaller shelves of the cells are cooler due to geothermal venting.

Krause Springs

Krause Springs is located 34 miles from Austin, Texas and is known to be the most prevalent in the state. The springs are a compilation of two separate cells that overlook Cypress Creek. The lower levels are adorned with Cypress trees and waterfalls which made it a spiritual place by the Native Indians. The site is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. "Two springs feed the 70' by 20' swimming pool at a rate of 70 gallons a minute at a temperature of about 70 degrees."

Crab Cooker Hot Springs

The beautiful Eastern Sierras viewed from Crab Cooker Hot Springs. This spring is among several located in this highly popular camping and backpacking area. It's quite shallow but big enough for several people and the scenery that surrounds the bathing hole is spectacular.

Wekiva Springs

One of my favorite places to call home; the Wekiva Springs is located in Longwood, Florida where the Timucuan Indians fished and hunted for years. These thermal springs are fed by five diverse sources, while the fish come directly from the springs into two large cells. "The thermal water flows at a rate of 130 liters per second with a daily capacity of 5,760 people." The temperature is usually kept around 72 Degrees which at times can feel like bathing in ice cubes. These healing waters contain calcium, sodium, magnesium, chlorine, and carbon dioxide which can cure neurological disorders, arthritis, and skin deficiencies.

Banjar Hot Springs

The Banjar is located in Bali and not too far down the road from the only Buddhist monastery in the area. These hot springs are marvelously landscaped with tropical plants. Being they are proven to help with ailments and spiritual clarity, local residents and tourists are urged to spend a couple hours a day relaxing to sooth the soul and clear the mind.

Onsen in Nachikatsuura

The Onsen Spring in Nachikatsuura, Japan located on the premises of the Nakanoshima Hotel on Nakanoshima Island. The island has six different hot springs with high sulfur content and this is just one of them. The spring is said to aid in the healing process of arthritis, female infertility, gout and rheumatism.

Chena Hot Springs

Chena Springs is located northeast of Fairbanks, Alaska near the Chena River State Recreation Area. The resort is using the first low-temperature binary geothermal plant built in Alaska to explore alternative energy sources.

The main attraction at Mammoth Hot Springs is the terraces. The Mammoth Hot springs are continuously changing. As cells grow, water is forced to flow in different directions and the constant changes create a living sculpture made from heat, water, limestone, and rock fractures. The colors are derived from natural living organisms attaching themselves to the side of the terraces.

Nevertheless on the cruises I have been on I found there are certain things I like to do and I make sure I get them done. Maybe you are the same when you go on vacation, and if you aren't take a look at these three suggestions the next time you go on a cruise to enhance your vacation fun and experience.

Bingo

Sure when you hear the word bingo you probably think of a weekly function for local older folks in your town that head to the church recreation hall to win some cash. However on a cruise ship, bingo is a ton of fun. At the beginning of the week the crowds are small but by the last day as long as the jackpot still stands the bingo hall is absolutely filled. Why? Because the jackpot grows into the thousands of dollars. On one cruise vacation I was on a woman won over $7,000. It was enough to pay for the entire cruise and them some. It is a bit pricey, so if you are going to play and only have the budget to play once, do it on the last day to go for the jackpot.

Wine Tasting

I am not much of a wine person but my wife is and on a cruise ship they offer wine classes. So normally I tag along with her and I can tell you I have learned quite a bit. It still doesn't make me a connoisseur of wine but I do know more now then I ever had. Some cruise ships charge a nominal fee of $5 for the class while others offer it free and then try to sell you wine at the end of the demonstration. Either way it is fun and you never feel pressured into buying anything.

Art Auction

Every ship I have been on has an art auction. I never realized how popular the activity was until I started seeing the rooms filled with people bidding on art from vendors I personally never heard of. Although I have never bought any art myself I have sat in on a couple of auctions (mostly for the free wine & cheese) and can say that if you are an art person, one of these auctions is definitely for you. The people there were excited when they won, and the energy in the room is incredible. Even if you are not an art person, sit in on one and you are sure to enjoy yourself.

These are just three of the endless things you can do on a cruise ship. I chose these three because they are different then what you could get on other vacations. The next time you go on a cruise give them a try. You never know you might win the jackpot, become a wine expert or learn a thing or two about art or auctions.

Each year, the hotel is built with "5oo tons of ice and 15,000 tons of snow" carved into one of the most fascinating hotels on earth. They keep it pretty cozy at 23° to 28° Fahrenheit. However, when you're not freezing your behind off, you can enjoy the many amenities featuring a chapel, a movie theater, an outdoor hot tub, and a bar. You're going to need a bunch of hot chocolate to get through this, I assure you.

Blue Palace

So, now you look at the price of your cruise, factor in the length of time you will be cruising, then realize that your price includes, your stateroom, your food, your entertainment, and well, except on some shore excursions, your transportation! All you have to pay for are drinks, any gambling you do in the Casino, items you purchase in the duty free shops, and if you have the children with you and you want a night alone, babysitting services and spa treatments. Wonderful destinations! This is an excellent opportunity to see places in the world that you might never see otherwise. Want to see Alaska? The Bahamas? The Mexican Riviera? How about Europe? Or, what the heck, take a world cruise! Okay, so the world cruise is a little excessive, unless of course you can get a whole year off of work. “Bye guys! I'm on vacation! See you in a year! Unless you are taking a European cruise, most cruises leave from ports right here in the United States. So far I have been to Baja Mexico and the Mexican Riviera. We plan to go to Alaska in the next few years and I would love to take a Caribbean cruise sometime too.

Great for the whole family! It used to be when you thought of taking a cruise, you would think of shuffleboard, and sitting around doing very little. Well, not anymore. Cruise ships have developed some of the most exciting activities for the whole family. You can climb a rock wall, go down a waterslide, try out a surfing pool ( yes, you can actually surf in this awesome new pool!), play golf, tennis, run the track, play fun games with an activities director, and lots more! The funniest game I think I've ever watched on board was the men's hairiest leg competition! And that's only outside! Inside, you've got the Casino, karaoke, dance clubs, card rooms, internet cafes, forum shops, game shows that you can watch or participate in, live music, and more. Got the kids? Check out the arcade, the kids camps, some cruise lines even have a movie theater, for teens there are teen only dance clubs where no adults except the staff are allowed. You can rent Gameboys and strollers as well. Oh yeah, and then there is the spa. You can get your hair done, get a facial, get a massage, get your teeth whitened, or you can exercise in the sports club! Want to see some of these activities for yourself? Last but not least, Towel Animals! You can have so much fun with these towel animals! Leave a pair of sunglasses in your stateroom in the evening and just see what those creative people with do with them! Have a favorite animal you want to see? Just ask your room steward, you just might be surprised when you turn in for the night.

Each night you cruise you get a different animal! We have had, elephants, snakes, dogs, cats, monkeys, and more! They even made a cow for our relatives staying next door at our request! Have fun with it but remember to leave out a pair of sunglasses and maybe even a hat.

Still not sure? Well, I guess you will just have to go on one. Take a short 3 or 4 day cruise for your first time just in case you don't like it. Remember though, if you do like it, go again and again and again. A little secret, repeat cruisers get higher status each time they cruise. With Carnival, when you get to Platinum status, you get priority everything! They also have this fun thing for repeat Carnival cruisers called a repeaters party. Free drinks, as many as you want, for a half an hour plus great entertainment! So what are you waiting for? Get out there and have fun! Maybe we'll run into each other sometime!

Boracay Island is paradise Philippines located off the northwest corner of the island of Panay, and belongs to the Western Visayas island-group, or Region 6, of the Philippines. The capital of Khanh Hoa Province, Nha Trang has a full-time population that stands at about 200,000 people, but it far exceeds that with the heavy local and international tourist influx, especially in the summer months. In this case the bottle costs so much because a British designer poured 16 ounces of it into a crystal bottle covered with diamonds and an 18-carrot gold collar. This is one blinged out perfume bottle.

This out-of-date toy is the world's most expensive Gameboy with a staggering price tag of $25,000 dollars. This limited edition Gameboy was created by Aspreys of London and is made out of 18 karat gold with a display screen surrounded with diamonds. I wonder what lucky kid got this toy from Santa?

This is the world's most expensive pen and was designed by Caran d'Ache in 1999. He designed this very extravagant and blinged out pen to show respect for a famous architect named Antoni Gaude who passed away in 1926. This pen, known as La Modernista Diamonds Fountain Pen, was sold to a Swiss company for a cool $265,000 dollars. The pen contains solid silver parts, a 18-karat gold tip, and is enveloped in 5,072 specially cut diamonds. This pen also contains 96 rubies which form an emblem on the pens cap top.

This is actually the world's most expensive tea bag and has the gigantic price of $13,941 dollars. This special tea bag was created by PG Tips Tea Company to celebrate their 75th anniversary. It took three months to make and was entirely hand crafted with over 280 diamonds. I can't wait to see how they celebrate their 100th anniversary.

This is Kona Nigari water and is the world's most expensive water at $16.75 dollars an ounce. This water is packed with minerals and comes from the deep seas near Hawaii. The water has first been desalted of course. This water is not just meant to be drunk. You are instead supposed to dillute it with more regular water. This water is specially known for the healthy vitamins and minerals that come in each bottle.

This is the World's Most Expensive Christmas Tree and valued at over half a million dollars. This tree is made from 5 pounds of 18 karat gold, is decorated with round briolette diamonds, and has a platinum star with a 4.54 karat diamond on top. This tree will be sold at an auction and all of the proceedings will go to the American Cancer Society. I wonder what kind of gifts Santa would leave under this tree?

That's right, this is an iced-out fishing lure that is valued at 1 Million Dollars. This $1,000,000 fishing lure consists of three pounds of Platinum, Gold, Diamonds, and Rubies. Former U.S President Bill Clinton has stayed here.

The Atlantis Bridge Suite at The Atlantis is located on top of a bridge that connects the two Royal Towers buildings at Paradise Island, Bahamas. It overlooks the entire marina and resort. It is definitely a one of a kind hotel suite experience. Some famous guests in the suite included Oprah Winfrey, Bill Gates, Donald Trump and Michael Jordan.

Armani Casa brought designer "homeware" with it's exclusive colors and shapes. Then they gave us Emporio Armani for young adults and Armani Junior for the children.

We have Armani Cosmetics and perfume and even Armani watches and sunglasses, but the latest project for this high end designer tops the lot. Get ready for the Armani Hotel at The Burj Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Georgio Armani will oversee the content, design and style of this fabulous hotel, including the interior and amenities. It will, of course, house the Armani Fashion, Furnishing and Beauty Collections.

This is the first of several hotels planned for affluent locations all over the world. It is due to open in Spring 2009 and will have 175 guest rooms, 5 restaurants and a spa covering an area of 40,000 square meters (a pretty big spa!) The rooms will be tastefully decorated in typical Armani style, modern, understated, but fabulously rich in texture and quality.

The price per room? I couldn't find that anywhere. I guess that if you have to ask, as the saying goes, you can't afford it.

Watch out for an Armani Hotel in your neighborhood as there are plans in process for Milan, London and New York.

The World’s Most Expensive Pizza

The pizza is known as a “Pizza Royale 007” and it has a price tag of £2,150 or about €3,000. A dish prepared by a Glasgow based restaurateur, Domenico Crolla, The Pizza Royale 007 is made using an organic pizza base which is topped with edible gold sheets, fine cognac marinated lobster, champagne soaked caviar, sunblush tomato sauce, Scottish smoked salmon and venison.

The pizza was initially prepared for Mr Maurizio Morelli, an Italian lawyer in Rome, as a Valentine's gift to his wife. The pizza's proceeds went to the Fred Hollows Foundation, which aims to prevent curable blindness in developing nations.

The World’s Most Expensive Burger

The Four Seasons Hotel in Jakarta, Indonesia has created the pricey hamburger which costs a million Indonesian rupiah or approximately $110, and is thought to be the world's most expensive burger. The taste is a fusion of East meets West and the hamburger is made with a home-made onion-wheat bun and includes the finest Japanese Kobe beef. Toppings include wasabi mayonnaise and Italian Portobello mushrooms, it is served with an Asian pear and the French foie gras, french fries, and it may be washed down with a glass of wine.

The Kobe beef comes from the infamous Japanese Wagyu cattle breed raised on a special beer and grain diet and the livestock are massaged daily to in order to tenderize the meat.

The World’s Most Expensive Hotdog

The United Nations has sold what is known to be the world's most expensive hotdog in Stockholm's Norrmalmstorg in 2005 in an effort to raise funds for the United Nations' aid work. A pricey piece of sausage, placed in a roll with a selection of toppings and usual condiments was priced at 999 kronor or about $145 apiece.

The World’s Most Expensive French Fry

This very unique 'limited edition' french fry called the “Lincoln Fry” contains the profile of Abraham Lincoln and has appeared in a McDonald's ad in the 2005 Super Bowl. In actual fact, this french fry was used as a prop during the commercial, however it has since been auctioned on eBay and was sold to the Golden Palace Casino.

The proceeds of nearly $22,000 went to the Ronald McDonald House Charities, making the Lincoln Fry the world's most expensive iconic French Fry of all time.
