Texas and Our Crazy Weather

Weather Highlights of our crazy weather in Texas.

Tired of the Texas weather? Just wait a minute and it will change! Texas is known for its crazy weather patterns, and there is a reason why. Texas' location has a lot to do with the crazy weather we receive.

The state of Texas is located roughly 30 degrees north latitude, just north of the tropics and just south of the middle latitudes. Which means Texas is in the middle of warm moist air surging north from the tropics and cool dry flowing from the plains; perfect ingredients for severe weather, which often comes quickly and sometimes with very little warning.

I've lived in Texas all my life, so I'm accustomed to the crazy weather we receive. I wanted to share some photos of my beautiful state with you.

This is a picture of our beautiful beaches at Corpus Christi.

Here is a thunderstorm brewing, it's beautiful and scary at the same time.

A flash flood, which can occur before you have time to react.

Another shot of the flash flood. Very fast and very deadly.

As the caption reads, this the famous Jarrell tornado that destroyed so many lives in the spring of 1997.

Beautiful Blue Bonnets that come after the rains in the spring. Our Texas flower!

Beautiful sunset over Lake Travis, in Austin, Texas.

Texas, yes it is a beautiful state.

Thanks for sharing Texas.

I beg to differ with you on the up and down weather cycle. The Northeast is also famous for that. For example here outside of Philly it was single digits Monday Feb 25, and twenties Tues Feb 26. Then thirties Thurs and High Twenties and snow Friday Feb 29. Mild cold March 1,2 and 60 some on Monday March 3rd.

It's like that all winter.

Texas is beautiful though. I had an Aunt from Sherman.

As a native Philadelphian I must add that the Dallas Cowboys suck!

It's been like that here too. It was 97 degrees one day last week and the next day it was in the 30's. And as far as the Dallas Cowboys, I have to agree with you! I'm not a sports fan anyway.
