We started off from Tampa Bay area and headed north, because heading south would have been a short trip. We started out in the morning (which according to the wife is between ten and eleven A.M.); we went to a weigh station on I-75 and got weighed before we took off. We did not know if other states made you weigh when you enter their state. We wanted everything to go smooth and have all our ducks in-a-row on our adventure.
When you have a bathroom traveling with you, it seems to make you want to go more often then not. We got use to the fact and the urge subsided, anyway back to the road.
We made northern Florida by dark and planned on staying in the Wal-Mart just off of I-10 west. We parked out in the far corner of the parking lot and started the generator. The refrigerator was running on propane so we had our stuff cold. I went into Wal-Mart and did some shopping and then back to the RV.

We had some older folks behind us and they thought we were to close and they were leaving early in the morning. We moved up a couple of feet and that solved that problem. We left in the morning before they were awake so everything worked out fine.
We were not in a big hurry so were driving in the slow lane at about 50-55 miles an hour. We wanted to drive per day maybe 5-7 hours and be in the RV Park before dark. Our first stop after Wal-Mart was Louisiana. We did not have a spot picked out, when we arrived there. We found a state park close to where we were so; we headed to the state park to see if we could get the rig in for the night.

We were lucky, because it was close to the weekend and the park was filling up quickly. They had a spot big enough for our rig. It was raining when we got to the spot and the ground was pretty soft. The spot had a circle drive paved with blacktop. This is our second stop, so give me some room on this one. I didn't unhook the car and the rig was 36 feet, so it was pretty close and you had to stay on the pavement. I started to pull in and the right rear tires went off the pavement and sinking. When the rig started to get struck I hit the gas and was able to pull out of the hole.

See the pile of dirt by the driveway. That is the hole we made when the rig went into the soft stuff. I had to wash the mud off of the tires and wheels. After all the drama was over, it turned out to be a great spot in the woods.

This was the site we seen in the morning, it was so crowded in the tent and trailer section. We were glad we got in there because it was great in the morning before we took off. See you at the next stop.
