In the middle of Midsummer Place Shopping Center in Milton Keynes, there is an old Oak Tree. The shops and walkways are built around it so that its area forms an open air courtyard in the center.
And the famous Concrete Cows, the thing most people think of when you mention Milton Keynes, are grazing at the foot of that tree. It's an awe inspiring sight, especially with the twinkling Christmas lights that surround this small area of calm in the otherwise hectic run up to Christmas.
